Kevin Crouch was an engine driver on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway who sadly lost his life on 3rd August 2003 aged 31 when driving Hercules. The engine collided with a car which did not stop at the crossing seen just ahead here. This memorial has been placed next to the line and a memorial garden has been created at Dymchurch station - see http://www.kevincrouch.co.uk/aboutkevin.htm In this photograph Northern Chief has passed over the crossing, heading from Hythe to Dungeness.
