Showing the new Orangery Tea Rooms to the right. The extension was part of the restoration and improvement project in 2009-10 with financial aid from the Heritage Fund and Canterbury City Council. The original building dates from the late 18th century and used to be a private residence. It is now managed by Whitstable Castle Trust, a charitable organisation consisting of local volunteers and elected Councillors.
