Looking down the covered walkway on the western side of New Road. The first colonnade was originally built in front of the Theatre Royal but was extended southwards in 1823 to the end of the road as well as continuing around the corner in North Street. Much of the extension was removed in the 1920s leaving just a small section between numbers 6 and 12 of the original remaining.
