Part of the main road system that links London Road to Lewes Road with a small cycle lane running down the middle where that joins another that follows the eastern side of Richmond Parade and Grand Parade down to the sea. The building shrouded in scaffolding and advertising is the Phoenix Building which is part of the University of Brighton.
