The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway opened in 1927 and the extension to Dungeness from New Romney opened in 1928. This is the view from Williamson Road at Lade. In Lade and Greatstone-on-Sea, bungalows have been built on both sides of the line in many places whereas further south they are only on one side allowing views across the shingle (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2668429 ), and at Dungeness there are clear views on both sides of the line.
