This is how the view from the road overbridge looked at the time as Peak type 4 loco 45122 heads a St Pancras to Derby service past Sharnbrook. The old signal box and signals clearly can be seen in the distance. Nowadays Sharnbrook is the Boundary between the power signal boxes of West Hampstead and Leicester. The old manual signalling is long gone just like 45122 and the rake of stock it is pictured heading northwards on.
