Looking north. Cullompton is barely visible in the distance. Down in the valley run the main lines of communication - the M5 Motorway, the Taunton-Exeter railway and, earlier, a turnpike road that served as the main highway before the M5 was constructed. Behind the camera the lane runs out of tarmac and is best suited to tractors and 4x4s. In the south-east corner of Bradninch parish
