Looking down an alley from Maiden Lane. "Lumley Court is little more than a crack in the wall; it is partly covered and rather spooky - certainly not the sort of place for the claustrophobic to explore in the dead of night" - according to Ivor Hoole at http://www.gyford.com/archive/2009/04/28/www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cabana/9424/page18.html ; he also explains that this entrance was only created in about 1872, until when the alley was a dead end from The Strand at the far end..
