Stockley Park is now a smart business park giving no clue as to its former use as a dump for Victorian London. Garbage was shipped up the Grand Union Canal and tipped on what was then open land well outside the urban area. We used to come here as kids and dig for old bottles and stuff. The most prized finds were the illustrated ceramic lids off pots of Gentleman's Relish. You wouldn't recognize the old place now.....
