Many of the crofts in the township of Fernilea have ceased to be actively farmed, but here, the presence of a number of sheds and barns suggests that this croft is still busy. The log pile on the left will require some work with a chain saw and log splitter before becoming fuel for the stove. The road in the foreground is the B8009, the water beyond is Loch Harport.
