Milestone on Great Missenden By-Pass

This photo of a milestone indicates that it is 30 miles from the centre of London. However, it is unusual that it is situated on a by-pass that was opened in the late 1950s, whereas the stone would appear to date long before then. It may be that it was located on the London Road southeast of Great Missenden before it was moved to the By-Pass.
