An interesting juxtaposition. On the left we have a fine example of the London County Council Fire Brigade Branch's stations in an Arts and Crafts style (another one here: Image]) - this one dates from 1901-02. Brick and stone, irregular windows, big chimneys and gables, all very homely, I hope the firemen didn't get too comfy and managed to retain a sense of urgency. Grade II* listed. Looming over it is Evergreen House, 68 years younger (see also: Image]).
