View southward, towards Croydon etc.: ex-LB&SC Victoria - Brighton main and suburban lines. The train has come from Norwood Yard (via either Crystal Palace or Selhurst) and is probably bound for Willesden LMR by the West London Line. It is hauled by one of the Maunsell W class 2-6-4Ts which were entirely devoted to cross-London freight exchange work, No. 31921 (built 10/35, withdrawn 6/63).
