Invited to bat, Derbyshire totalled 513-6 (Adrian Rollins 148, Michael May 116), but Glamorgan escaped with a draw on their way to winning the County Championship for the third time. On the warm afternoon of the first day, enthusiasts watched the cricket, gossiped and (no doubt) enjoyed being on this delightful ground. The crooked spire is in the distance just right of centre.
