Positioned on the corner of Trafalgar Street and Trafalgar Lane - where else? Given the innate anti-English predisposition of many Scots, its presence indicates proximity to the port of Leith where, it may be presumed, some sailors were press-ganged into service on Nelson's ships. The muster book of H.M.S. Victory records 64 Scots aboard before the Battle of Trafalgar and there must have been more on board other ships of the fleet.
