In addition to the ship’s lifeboats ferries also have a fast rescue craft (“FRC”) which can be launched quickly to assist (for example) the rescue of a passenger who has fallen overboard. This is the “Stena Seafarer’s” FRC exercising at Larne. This is quite common on a Sunday morning when there is a lull in the number of ferry sailings.
