This was never intended to be a demolition site, but a severe fire on the 2nd October 2011, badly damaged a charity electrical & furniture store run by the British Heart Foundation, and the adjoining new furniture store of Levines. For safety reasons it was felt necessary to completely demolish what remained. Both enterprises want to re-open in Kidderminster, but whether they will re-open here or elsewhere, remains to be seen.
