The pulpit at St Mary's Church with its tester, or sounding board, is Jacobean (dating from the first quarter of the 17th century). To the right is part of the 15th-century rood screen with remnants of its floral decoration, and in the foreground can be seen the beautiful medieval floor tiles. The iron bracket attached to the central arch of the screen formerly held an hour glass for timing the sermons.
