The ARC Leisure Centre was opened on 24 August 2011 as a replacement for Matlock Lido (see Image). There is a good view across the valley of the River Derwent from the Leisure Centre (which includes a swimming pool). The row of trees on the hilltop on the left-hand side of the photo is at Brightgate. The hill with the single tree on top on the right-hand side of the photo is Oaker Hill.
