The year appears to have been added as an afterthought! This is quite an early date for a slate gravestone; these early slate gravestones use slate quarried at Swithland, near Loughborough, much in demand in the area for this purpose. The angel head design is local to the Vale of Belvoir, and they are known as "Belvoir Angels". Listed Grade II.
