A jolly facade with lots of brick diapering and a central turret. It dates from 1894 and was designed by Metcalfe & Jones for the Grant Brothers' department store. Scrolls above the first floor windows describe the shop's original wares - millinery, ribbons, lace, gloves, silks, dresses, mantles, linens. Grade II listed. Grants closed in the 1980s, and now all that remains is a facade behind which a cinema bulges indecorously.
