The church is not going to win any beauty contests. Externally this is all a remodelling of 1867 by H.E. Coe in a Romanesque style (see the rounded windows). To its right is the former parish hall, named after Charles Hammerton who coughed up the funds on the back of his brewery which stood over the road. A stone plaque records the date 1906, although it looks later than that.
