This church was consecrated on 15th June 1939, and replaced a wood and corrugated iron church of 1893 on Bank Lane (there is now a house on the site). The architect was H Erskine Hill of Fox and Hill of Dewsbury, and the builders were B Beever and Sons of Ingbirchworth, not far away, using stone from Rastrick.
