Gatley’s war memorial is situated on Gatley Green, though the original World War I memorial is this clock tower at the junction of Northenden Road and Church Road. The clock itself has not been in working order for many years, although a Clock Fund was started in 2011 with the intention of repairing and restoring it in the near future (http://www.gatleynet.co.uk/gatley-glossary/update-clock - GatleyNet). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatley#War_Memorial_and_Clock_Tower - Wikipedia
