Situated on the very outskirts of Lichfield, actually in Streethay village, Lichfield TV Jct signal box was opened by the London & North Western Railway Co in 1897. It is on the South Staffordshire line from Wychnor Junction to Dudley (now truncated) and is still doing the job for which it was built - signalling trains. It is a LNWR type 4 and retains a LNWR tumbler frame of 45 levers. Until 1985 it controlled a gated level crossing, however a local road improvement scheme saw the abolition of the vehicular crossing but a pedestrian only crossing is retained. Currently TV Jct works TCB to Aston, AB to Alrewas and TCB with direction lever over the single line to Lichfield Trent Valley which is controlled by Rugby SCC.
