The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Between two of the new BBC buildings at Media CityUK. MediaCityUK has been designed to provide a purpose-built home for creative and digital businesses. The first phase, spread over 36 acres, was completed in 2011 but there are plans to expand further, with the potential to use up to 200 acres of land over the next decade. The BBC have started moving around 2500 staff to MediaCityUK, which involves relocating five London-based departments, along with all local and network broadcasting previously operating out of Image] in Manchester city centre.
