This wooden structured shop in Wood Street Walthamstow is said to date from around 1750 but it's much more likely to be later. It was originally "Jones Family Butcher" and behind it was a slaughter house which survived until the 1960s. There have been unsuccessful attempts to have it listed but to no avail. However, the tree which stands in front of it has a preservation order, so nothing can be built on the site.
