- On the right, Clifton House, with its striking 'eyebrows' of orange brick, is still in use. On the left Firth's carpet factory is disused, and it will be interesting to see whether it is converted to apartments or demolished. There is already an extensive new housing development on the main part of the former factory site immediately behind.
