This landscape seen from the Trent and Mersey Canal shows the towpath in the foreground, and flood plain pasture by the River Trent beyond it. The rough horizontal line of vegetation seen by the sheep this side of the grey farm building, and passing the single tree by the cattle reveals the course of the River Trent, flowing from right to left.
