This amazing, brand-new facility was being well-used during the summer holidays. A parish council notice at the village hall says that as well as the all-singing all-dancing play areas, the pavilion and the car park, facilities include cricket pitch, adult football pitch, children's 7-a-side pitch, petanque and a multi-use surface (or MUGA) for tennis, basketball, netball and 5-a-side football. The site will be home to the new Triumph Meriden FC; Meriden Rovers junior football team will train here (those are their drinks bottles on the ground). It's a dog-free zone, there is CCTV and there will soon be a dedicated website. It would be interesting to know how it was all financed. Current satellite photos show the site as it was: a grass field hedged all round with no obvious access. The new entrances off the roundabout make the site highly accessible: full marks!
