Darwin's Barberry in Hopetoun Crescent Garden

Shrub named Berberis darwinii in honour of the naturalist Charles Darwin. A native of Chile and Argentina, it was planted here as a reminder that this was once the site of Edinburgh's botanic garden before its move to Inverleith in the 1820s.
