The text includes the following wording, "Shoal. Charlotte Howarth 2008. Opie Wood Mirrored Steel. This project was devised and delivered as part of a regenerative programme led by Newbuildings Community and Environmental Association, in partnership with Riverview Residents Association, Lettershandoney and District Development Group and Derry City Council. Young people from each community came together with professional artists, landscape architects and engineers to create the environment and the artwork on two sides either side of the River Foyle. The work reflects the history of the river and the historic community links to the salmon fishing industry. The work also highlights how individuals can work together to accomplish positive change, with a shared vision. The fish are swimming down-stream on the east bank and up-stream on the west bank to reflect the rising and setting of the sun. Kevin Crumley and John McAlister gifted the land for the project. Mayor Gerard Diver officially opened Shoal on 29th November, 2008." Pictured here Image]
