Pub on the corner of Station Road and a road named Pool Barton. The pioneer in question is Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859). Among his many engineering achievements are the initial construction of the Great Western Railway from London to Bristol; steamships, including the first propeller-driven transatlantic steamship; and many important tunnels and bridges, such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Maidenhead Railway Bridge over the Thames and the Royal Albert Bridge across the Tamar. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1793243 to the pub sign.
