Looking out to the Firth of Clyde from the New Bridge, showing the recent housing developments on both sides of the River Ayr. The piers in the river belong to a former railway bridge which carried a spur line from the original railway station on the north bank to the quayside on the south bank. The station site has been redeveloped for residential use. (Source: "Discovering Ayrshire", by John Strawhorn & Ken Andrew).
