Opened in 2007 to replace the old cramped Victorian buildings in Dyke Road that had been its home since 1881. The original stone plaque was moved to the site and can be seen between the building and the lamp post. The hospital lies within the grounds of the Royal Sussex Hospital whose renal unit was moved to make way for this structure.
