Operated by Hillingdon Borough Council, the centre was open to anyone who wished to take part in outdoor activities. It was housed in the old coach house and stable block of the now demolished Brynkir Hall. As of 2009, the centre is independently run and is known as Cwm Pennant Hostel and Training Centre.
