Trains first ran over this line in 1858 when the West End of London & Crystal Palace Railway line from Crystal Palace to Shortlands was opened. This view is from Downs Bridge Road. Until 2007, Eurostars could be seen passing under the bridge here. Just ahead is the junction with the Catford Loop Line.
