It is very difficult to believe, looking along Braidley Road here at 12:45 on a Thursday lunchtime, that two hours ago we would have been stood in a foot and a half of water. Torrential rain this morning brought much flooding to Bournemouth town centre and Braidley Road was particularly badly hit - it was soon overcome with water and many cars parked along here had to be abandoned (one can be seen parked at a rather jaunty angle behind the workman on the left). It is worth applauding the Water Board and Council people, because only a short time after we are stood here, the road would reopen fully, with repaired mains and swept gutters and looking just as if it was an ordinary wet afternoon.
