The round plaque below the street lamp states that this is one of Eyemouth's oldest buildings, believed to date from 1640, though much altered over time. It was a brew kitchen, a confectioner's in the 19thC, and a barber's until 1990. The present owners, the Rutherfords, restored it in 1996 as a home and shop.
