A striking building of 1973-77, for Credit Lyonnais, designed by Whinney, Son & Austen Hall with the structural engineers Ove Arup & Partners. It was the first building in the world to be wholly clad in glass-fibre-reinforced cement. The windows sit within splayed surrounds with each storey demarcated by black bands sloping out at an angle of five degrees. I think it gives it more than a passing resemblance to an upside-down jelly mould, but I still like it. Grade II listed.
