Following the riots of 8th August 2011, which saw widespread looting and arson in Croydon, the BBC Radio 5 Live programme 'Double Take' was broadcast from Croydon and Manchester on Sunday 14th. The white van, to the right of picture, is an un-marked BBC outside broadcast van. It was not too many years ago that outside broadcast vans, clearly marked with the broadcasting company, were safe on the streets of England.
