On the corner of Castle Street and Ratings Row, this inn dates from the 15th Century and has an impressive history. It was commandeered by Cromwell's General Mytton during the Civil War, has been a Quaker Meeting House in the 18th century and the guests have included Charles Dickens and Samuel Johnson.
