The inscription reads, "In Memory of Richard K. Degenhardt 1924- 2000 A beloved American who loved Belleek and Beleek hand-crafted parian porcelain from the local Pottery. His love for the townspeople and the craft inspired his writing of two works on Belleek Parian which are considered "The" reference text for collectors and museums wherever Belleek is appreciated. His friendship and his knowledge of Belleek has lent support to the people, the town and the Pottery for many years. His strength and his character were the attraction to which people were drawn, and served as a catalyst to unite craft and collectors. He founded the Belteek Collectors' Society which flourishes around the world. He will be remembered for generations as a caring friend and an honorary Belleeker. This plaque is placed in his honor by the people of Belleek, Belleek Collectors, Belleek Honorees and friends, 2001" Pictured here Image]
