A '3150' 2-6-2T at Gloucester GW Locomotive Depot

Normally employed banking Up freight trains from Brimscombe up to Sapperton Tunnel, No. 3171 (built 10/07, withdrawn 7/57) rests in the Depot Yard along with 0-6-0 Pannier tanks. This was just after Nationalisation, so 'GWR' still on the tank sides and no smokebox number-plate. Gloucester (Horton Road) Depot was in the Worcester Division and had an allocation in 1947 of 63:- 15 4-6-0, 4 4-4-0, 2 2-8-0 (1 LMS-type, 1 ex-WD), 8 2-6-0, 4 0-6-0, 5 2-6-2T, 3 0-6-2T, 17 0-6-0T and 5 0-4-2T.
