Having used conventional roads through the city and south from the railway station under Hills Road Bridge (from which this picture was taken) a bus joins the concrete Brio track for the rest of its journey to Trumpington. A path for walkers and cyclists runs beside the busway, which had opened the previous day, two years late and massively over budget. The brown-brick building on the right is Cambridge University Press. The three-coach train in the middle distance was about to reverse into the platforms at the station (behind the camera).
