View southward, towards Tondu, Bridgend etc.: ex-GW Garw Valley branch. Blaengarw station was closed 2/6/53 when the passenger service from Bridgend ceased, but International Colliery just to the north was active until 1968. The empties train is headed by Churchward '4200' 2-8-0T No. 4251 (built 5/16). See also Image
