This site is the remains of Barrow Farm on the north side of the River Coquet Image The building on the left is now restored as a holiday home. At one time remains of a pele tower that had been destroyed by the Scots could be seen near the farmhouse but are now grown over http://www.keystothepast.info/article/10339/Site-Details?PRN=N1051 There are extensive remains of field systems and medieval ploughing west and south-east of the farm connected with the deserted medieval village of Barrow, some probably in use since prehistoric times.
