The Trawden Arms on Church Street was formerly the Rock Hotel. It was built in 1895 on the site of a corn mill which had stood there since the 16th century. The licence was transferred from the Black Rock which stood at the bottom of Rock Lane http://www.trawdenonline.co.uk/tlife/history/history.html.
