This Grade II listed, large detached house built late Cl8, was known in Georgian times as Lobster Hall. It subsequently became Springhill School throughout the 1800s and eventually Whitby's Liberal Club after the First World War. The lodge is now an annexe of the Bagdale Hall hotel.
