Detail of the old hoe seen in Image at Hezlett House near Castlerock. One of several at the house, this is a "New Star Hoe" and was made by the Wexford Engineering Company. The company was established in 1847 by millwright and inventor James Pierce, who became famous for his hearth fan. The company went on to employ 1,000 people and exported around the world until it closed in 1980.
